Audition for a Part – 2025

Congratulations, and welcome to the Gang!

This year's pantomime will be 'Treasure Island: A Tale of Silver and Gold!'

If you would like to audition for a main speaking part for the show, you will need to attend a short, 15 minute audition. The audition day is Sunday 8th June at Cardiff and Vale Scouts, The Hub, Maitland Street, Cardiff. CF14 3JU. This is the only day available to audition.

You won't need to prepare anything for this session, and you will perform a section of the script and sing a song (if auditioning for a solo singing role) - both of which will be taught in the session.

As part of this process, please take the time to look at the characters available. It is possible to express a preference for a role, but we cannot guarantee any preferences.

Synopsis of the story

Jim and his gran run a quiet inn, at least it’s quiet until one day a strange sailor turns up, Captain Billy Bones. Lots of people come looking for Captain Bones. But it is only Jim that finds his treasure map. With the help of Squire Trelawney, Dr Livsey, and Captain Smollett they all hire a ship and go to look for the treasure. However, unknown to them, Long Jan Silver (a shipmate of Billy Bones) crews the ship with pirates!

They reach the island and Jim is kidnapped, he escapes and he is help by castaway, Ben Gunn and his strange friend, Allardyce. Eventually, they sail away with the treasure leaving the pirates on the island, except Long Jan Silver who mysteriously escapes!
